  1. Converts 2-byte characters of selection range of QuoEdit to 1-byte characters.  It works only on 2-byte language (font) documents.
  2. Japanese  all other than space character: yes, space: no
  3. Korean and Chinese  alphabet: yes, numerics and others: no
  4. (tested in March 1997. The results of transliterate event depends on MacOS entirely.)
